Technoballs

Maydam is a music and visual art project initiated by SMACK. Each release introduces a different fictional performer, with its own musical style and visual world.

Episode 01, Technoballs, follows a character developed from photographs of a younger self, performing alone inside an automated fulfillment centre. The film was built shot by shot through a hybrid process combining generative video, 3D previs, animation, compositing and post-production. The result retains the physical weight, imperfect movement and analogue texture of live-action footage.

The music is entirely human-made.
